THREAT ASSESSMENTS:
All prudent security plans, policies, and procedures begin with a thorough and realistic assessment of the threat. The threat assessment may focus on a specific corporation – its facilities, personnel, equipment, and operational capabilities – or a specific city, county etc. Threat assessments should address “All Hazards” – both manmade threats (like terrorism and work place violence) as well as natural disasters (hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires, and earthquakes).
Threat assessments should also take into account critical infrastructure sectors that are within a reasonable proximity to or play a critical role in affecting operational capabilities. The threat assessment will analyze threat risks and vulnerabilities so that prudent cost-effective measures can be identified and implemented to minimize those risks and vulnerabilities.

The RBTX staff has over 25 years of intelligence experience and has participated in the research, coordination and development of some 52 reality based threat assessments in support of as many site-specific exercises. The RBTX staff has reached out to numerous intelligence producing organizations – to include DHS, FBI, DOE, FEMA, DOD, and State Fusion Centers – to ensure that the most timely and up-to-date unclassified intelligence information is used in its assessments. The end result has been more realistic and credible training experiences as well as more valid and cost effective solutions to real world security and emergency management challenges.
“The more realistic the Threat Assessment – the more effective the solutions to address those critical risks and vulnerabilities.”
